Employment Associate, College Point, NY (Queens) 27-32k

Position Summary: Assist the employment services department with administrative functions related to hiring a variety of staff utilizing the HR Business Partner approach. Conducts recruitment for entry-level professional positions.

? Assist employment specialist with screening and coding resumes. Main resume and x-file database.

? Assist employment specialist to evaluate and refer viable candidates based on interview, results of assessment(s), reference checks, review of background materials (e.g., school transcripts, licenses/certifications, credit history, criminal records).

? Generates offer letters documenting employment conditions, establishes training schedule, etc.

? Conducts reference checks, education verification, license verification, and other forms of credentialing. Schedules fingerprinting and criminal background checks and maintains criminal background check database/process for OMRDD/OMH.

? Ensures all newly hired employees have properly completed the necessary forms including tax withholding forms, the I-9 form, etc. in compliance with all federal, state, industry, and Agency requirements.

? Ensures all required documents are submitted by prospective employees and take photos for identification badges.

? Reviews job requisitions and prepare and disseminate internal job postings for vacant positions weekly. Update vacancy list on the PSCH website..

? Process internal transfer request, forward confirmation letters, etc.

? Conducts exit interviews with separating/separated employees.

? Composes and types correspondence.

? Performs other related duties, as required.



Experience/Education/skills/abilities:

Associates degree in Human Resources or other related field, and a minimum of one-year human resources experience preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
