Executive Compensation Manager

Organization:  Enterprise/Human Resources

Location:  Negotiable

 

The Enterprise Workforce and Infrastructure Compensation Lead is accountable for compensation programs and processes for Accenture's Enterprise personnel. The Enterprise workforce is composed of the support functions such as Finance, Legal, HR and CIO. The lead defines new (or key changes to existing) global compensation programs and processes, and facilitates and influences decision making by leadership on the types and form of local HR strategy and compensation programs.

 

Job Summary:

 

The Executive Compensation Manager manages the market survey, intelligence gathering and reporting processes related to executive compensation, keeps current on key events, practices and trends in executive compensation as relate to our peer companies and external governing bodies.  The Executive Compensation Manager develops recommendations on new executive compensation programs and processes or changes to existing programs and processes and manages their design, implementation and support, in collaboration with key internal groups.  The Manager maintains an extensive network of contacts at peer and competitor companies as well as compensation consultants, and counsels and shares knowledge related to executive compensation with the broader organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

? Manages market survey and intelligence gathering processes related to executive compensation, with primary focus on the top senior executive groups (Senior Executive Career Levels 1-4);

? Prepares recommendations on new executive compensation programs and processes (or changes to existing programs and processes) based on relevant changes in the external marketplace (e.g., at peer companies) or environment (e.g., tax, legal, accounting, regulatory authorities) and on the organization?s strategic and competitive needs;

? Manages the design, implementation and administration of new executive compensation programs and processes or changes to existing programs and processes; manages or actively participates in companywide initiatives that impact our executive compensation programs and processes;

? Manages or actively participates in periodic compensation planning;

? Keeps current on key events, practices or trends in executive compensation, including activities of our peer companies and various external institutions and bodies that impact executive compensation (i.e., legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, securities authorities);

? Draws from external ?best practice? through leveraging a network of executive compensation contacts at peer companies, other corporations and compensation consulting firms;

? Manages the executive compensation reporting process, helping to ensure that scheduled and ad-hoc executive compensation reports are produced in-scope and in time to enable senior leadership to make decisions;

? Manages changes to our global/proprietary systems and processes based on changes that we make to executive compensation programs;

? Establishes and maintains relationships with key contacts in Accenture?s Equity Services, Finance, Tax, Legal, Performance Management (Senior Executive) and Senior Executive Matters groups;

? Manages cross-functional work streams (e.g., benefits, tax, finance, legal) to ensure the design and implementation of holistically appropriate executive rewards packages and programs;

? Assesses on-going compliance of executive officer compensation matters with appropriate regulatory bodies (e.g., SEC, IRS, FASB);

? Manages annual operating and initiatives budgets for area;

 

Qualifications

Must Have Qualifications:

 

Education: Undergraduate degree or equivalent with Concentrations in Economics, Finance, Human Resources (or Compensation) or Psychology are preferred, but not required.

 

Work Experience (optimal):   

 

?6+ years in compensation (with at least 3 years in executive compensation preferred)

?  6+ years of compensation design, implementation and administration skills/knowledge

 

Other Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

 

?Extensive experience working within a large, multi-national organization strongly preferred (secondarily, from a compensation consultancy)

?Experience with a global, multi-cultural, virtual work environment preferred

?Solid knowledge of accounting, tax, legal and regulatory aspects of executive compensation

?  Solid financial/statistical modeling skills

?  Business/economics/finance acumen

? Strong business writing and oral communication skills

? Strong project management: able to manage large, complex global programs and processes

? Issue resolution and problem solving

? Conflict management

? External network of peer executives at comparable companies or competitors
