FAMILY RESOURCES (HR) MANAGER
Supporting West Coast
The Family Resources Manager will work with several Divisional Vice Presidents to ensure that the Family Resources (Human Resources) policies, procedures, compliance and initiatives of Buca, Inc. are maintained at each restaurant within their assigned divisions. In addition to providing Family Resources leadership, the Manager will be directly responsible for five principle areas; development of people, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and ordinances, standards, execution and culture within Buca di Beppo. This Manager serves as a teacher and mentor to all levels of restaurant management and helps to ensure that the principles and integrity of Buca Inc. policies are upheld. Critical to this individual's success will be their ability to integrate into the highly evolved culture of Buca di Beppo and Buca, Inc. that has served as a cornerstone for our success. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Director of Family Resources and work out of our corporate office in Minneapolis or their home office in California. Ongoing day and overnight travel is a significant part of this position.
This Manager will also handle the resolution of complex employee relations issues and provide counseling & investigation in accordance with legal requirements; represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations and conduct Internal Family Resource compliance audits for state and federal law.
Other responsibilities include coaching managers on people management skills; helping evaluate and identify ways to maximize performance of individuals and work groups; implementing development and succession plans and effective policies. Consult with restaurant managers and family members (employees) on employee relations issues, making sure that family members are treated fairly and equitably, creating an employer-of-choice working environment.
Advise on, document, and administer employee terminations; work with managers to document performance issues/improvement plans when warranted. Keep an active pulse on employee issues and recommend creative solutions. Support implementation of Family Resources policies, processes, programs and systems, (such as execution of new policies, company-wide strategies, etc.). Serve as main Family Resources (HR) contact for questions/troubleshooting.
Partner with and provide proactive leadership solutions to Divisional Vice Presidents, and Paisano Partners (GMs) to ensure Family Resources (HR) processes are in place and executed across divisions. Act as content expert for the market on all Family Resources tools, systems and processes. Participate in monthly and quarterly operations meetings. Recommend solutions for business issues and Family Resources (HR) issues. Participate and lead cross-functional teams.
Requirements for this position include a strong generalist background with a minimum of 3 years of human resources experience required; hospitality experience a plus. A BS/BA in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related discipline is required; PHR/SPHR a plus. Must have excellent customer service skills; able to maintain confidentiality and act as a Family Resources (HR) ambassador. The ideal individual will be energetic, self-motivated and a quick learner who takes direction well but can work with moderate to minimal guidance. Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and presentation/facilitation skills are a must.
Good analytic skills and a flexible attitude are preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Outlook, Word and Excel are required. A good sense of humor is a must.
