About the Opportunity
HR Documentation and Communication Manager
(Northern NJ)
Selective Insurance is seeking a Human Resources professional to work with and be the main point of contact between human resources and legal staff to analyze, review and audit HR documents, policies, procedures and practices; in order to develop and establish operational best practices and to ensure compliance. The individual in this role will be responsible for representing HR and coordinating all communication and documentation between Human Resources, Corporate Communications and ITS. (This includes working with eSelect, Selective?s public website career section, Human Resources Information System and Outlook Forms.). This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in New Jersey.
Some essential duties of these positions are as follows:Coordinates and assists with HR audits to ensure procedures and documents comply with legal requirements and internal policiesGenerates audit reports to appropriate management teams and VP of HR OperationsEnsures all HR departmental communications are generated, maintained and updated in an appropriate and timely fashion; works with HR, legal, and corporate communications staff to ensure HR information and processes are accurate, documented, and updated on a timely basis, including:Communicating effectively and working closely with Corporate Legal to ensure compliance with changes in law and best practices associated with current and emerging issues that impact HRDocumenting all departmental procedures/manuals for training purposes and SOX complianceReviewing and editing all HR communications to employees and management to ensure accuracy and consistencyCoordinates activities between the ITS, payroll, benefits, HR Operations and leadership departments.
To be successful in this position, the following qualifications are required:Experience with human resources complianceStrong operational knowledge of HR, payroll, benefits or leadershipMust have the ability to take initiative (i.e., be proactive, drive performance, and influence change) Superior interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsTeam orientation with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentOutstanding customer service skillsMust be able to utilize independent judgment in completing activities and influencing others to complete projects
Also preferred, are development experience with several of the following:SPHR or PHR certification or Bachelor?s degree in related discipline.
