HR Generalist II

Tremco Incorporated has been a world leader in solving complex waterproofing and roofing problems for commercial, institutional and industrial accounts since 1928.  Tremco is a subsidiary of RPM International Inc., a holding company, that owns subsidiaries that are world leaders in specialty coatings serving both industrial and consumer markets.  We are seeking a HR Generalist.

 

Under the direction of the HR manager, this individual is responsible for providing support to the Roofing, Sealants, Euclid Chemical and Corporate groups within Tremco Incorporated in the functional areas of HR including but not limited to employee relations, job evaluations, compensation management, benefits administration, orientation and training, AAP/EEO and special projects.  Assists in the implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications and/or meetings.  Prepares reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organizational needs.

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:

 

? Assist HR Manager with issues that affect human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.

? Assists in conducting new employee orientation, non-harassment or other training as identified, to foster positive attitude toward company goals. 

? Assist in management training/advising managers and supervisors in terminations, promotions, performance review.

? Assist in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues (i.e., performance management, conflict resolution and termination).

? Responds to employee inquires regarding policies, procedures and programs.

? Assist with administration of annual salary administration program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity with the organization, including assistance with compensation analysis, reviewing surveys and job descriptions for non-exempt or exempt classifications.

? Assist with benefits administration with life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence and supplemental benefits, etc.

? Supports remote locations to address employee relations issues with management and general employee population.

? Other projects as assigned based on divisional staffing needs and departmental objectives.

? Position may grow into a supervisory role.

 

 

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

 

? B.S. Business / HR or related background, 8-10 years experience in a HR Generalist capacity in handling multiple locations; manufacturing experience preferred.

? Thorough knowledge of current benefit / employment law at the federal, state and local levels (e.g., COBRA, HIPPA, FLSA regulations, EEO and Americans with Disabilities (ADA) and regulatory record keeping requirements.

? Windows 2000 PC literate ? spreadsheet / database / word processing applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

? Proficient skills in HRIS administration, operation, and reporting.

? High degree of flexibility requiring excellent customer service skill.

? Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

? One-to-three years supervisory experience required.
