HR Junior Generalist

The Hr Junior Generalist position is responsible for the administration of all transactional duties relating to human resources activities. Reporting to the Senior HR Generalist, this role will troubleshoot and respond to queries from employees and line managers on various HR and payroll related issues.  Maintain PeopleSoft human resources system by updating changes and employee information.  Maintain personnel files.  Coordinate fingerprinting/identification badges for employees.  Coordinate and conduct employee orientations.  Sort and distribute semi-monthly paychecks.  Track applicants and update job files.  Assist employees with benefit, payroll and other related questions.  Provide assistance in administrative duties for department. Perform other duties or special project as assigned.  The Junior Generalist will assist the Senior HR Generalist in facilitating the tactical implementation of the HR Strategy including employee relations, payroll activities, compensation, recruitment, turnover/retention, benefits, performance management and any other activities.

 

Three to five years administrative experience in Human Resources.  Knowledge and prior experience with HR policies & practices desired.  Previous experience should include:  basic project management, maintenance of relationships with client/ customer base, database management, accurate production of MIS, demonstrated performance in a high volume environment, problem solving and troubleshooting of issues, and formal delivery of presentations.Strong verbal/ written communication abilities; effective interpersonal skills; proven analytical/ problem solving abilities; quality orientation; attention to detail.  Solid presentation skills.  Strong organizational and follow up skills; ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a high-volume environment.  Strong sense of urgency; ability to execute quickly and efficiently. Team oriented with the ability to flex in support of the work style, timelines, deliverables of client groups.

 

Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion. Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint required.  Proficiency with Access preferred.  Prior experience with Peoplesoft preferred.  Desire to enhance technical skills and learning required.  Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred).
