Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
Ensures the development and consistent application of policies and procedures in the areas of safety, associate development, training, employee and labor relations, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and public relations. Exhibits and supports the development of a culture that identifies Safe, Quality Production as #1 Goal.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business or Public Administration or closely related area; PHR or SPHR certification preferred. FA/CPR/AED training required.
- Five years experience as a human resources generalist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, statutes, regulations, rules, policies and procedures; principles and practices of personnel management and industrial/employee relations; recruitment strategies for various types of positions; principles; and practices and procedures of development of training modules.
- Knowledge of the use and applications of personal computers/software to the standard practice of human resource management.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of management, employees and their representatives, human resources professionals, safety professionals, business and professional groups and the general public.
- Skill in workload and time management techniques; comprehending and analyzing organizational and procedural problems and in making sound recommendations and conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions; and accident/incident investigation and reporting protocols.
- Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards and performing accident and incident investigations.
- Skill in presenting a wide variety of training to diverse audiences.
- Skill in oral communication in one-on-one and group situations; in written communications for persuasive, training and technical purposes; and in utilizing public relations techniques in responding to inquiries and complaints.
