Qualifications:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the HR Manager, the incumbent is accountable for administering and interpreting the plant safety programs to insure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment. The position will coordinate the hiring of all temporary employees and do orientation training. Maintain all training files for the McPherson facility, including data base and paper files. Assist in the coordination of all training needs identification for the facilities. To administer the filling out of new employee paperwork and assist employees with daily needs during training. Position will include backup duties for production and QA trainers, during the new hire orientation process.

COMPETENCIES:
The incumbent must have a background in HR law, regulations, and policies and a working knowledge of OSHA regulations, HR procedures, hiring, recruiting and training. The incumbent must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with all levels of people and employees, and should possess presentation skills. The incumbent should have PC skills, and knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and database. The incumbent must have strong administration and organizational skills. This knowledge and skill would typically be obtained through formal education such as a BA in human resource management or business, or through 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the HR/Safety discipline.
