HUMAN RESOURCE COORDINATOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
With the support of the national Human Resource team, assists the Corporate Director of Human Resources in leading and managing the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of Human Resource functions to ensure the effective communication of programs, policies and procedures relating to Human Resources and the company-wide goals and objectives. Works directly with Senior and Facility Management to promote the healthy development of the organization and its people to achieve business objectives. Generally assists the Corporate Director of Human Resources in overseeing the Human Resource (?HR?) activities including workforce planning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations and coordinates activities with other departments such as Safety and Quality. Works with all levels of management and employees in the organization to focus effectively on new areas of development and improvement. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Duties And Responsibilities:
1. Works with the Corporate Director of HR to review and make recommendations to improve the Company?s policies, procedures and practices on Human Resources.
2. Acts as a liaison between employee issues and management objectives.
3. Works directly with department managers and HR Coordinators in the Facilities to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on human resource matters.
4. Serves as the specialist in areas of EEO, HIPAA and Affirmative Action administration.
5. Administers classification programs, which includes classifying positions in accordance with FLSA, writing job descriptions and conducting wage and salary surveys.
6. Responsible for monitoring the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
7. Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of effective recruitment practices under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
8. Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of employee orientation programs under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
9. Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of employee training and development programs under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
10. Provides support to the Company?s Benefits Administrator in the development, implementation and evaluation of Company benefit programs under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
11. Monitors the development and implementation of performance evaluation programs and management coaching programs under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
12. Works with Director of Safety to monitor workers? compensation claims and may coordinate between the employee, HR and insurance carrier under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
13. Participates on committees and with special projects under the direction of the Corporate Director of HR.
14. Assists in the timely and effective resolution of employee relations issues.
15. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
16. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management skills and flexibility
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-Minimum Bachelor?s Degree in the areas of Business or Human Resources with more than 2 years of related experience (appropriate Human Resources/Management experience may compensate for educational requirements).
-Equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience with Lawson, BeneTrac, Excel, Word, PowerPoint programs.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
-SHRM Certified Senior Professional (SPHR) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
General knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration. Knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of personnel management. Knowledge of the organizations and operations of administrative programs. Ability to develop long-term plans and programs (including performance metrics) and to evaluate work accomplishments. Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees and the general public. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
