HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINSTRATOR

EORM is a successful, growing business services organization with roughly 130 employees across the country, and we are looking for a Human Resources Administrator with good benefits administration skills as an addition to our Human Resources headquarters staff in Sunnyvale, CA.

 

The Human Resources Administrator is the number 2 person in HR and will be responsible for a wide variety of human resource activities. This person will have overall hands-on responsibility for benefits administration, HR systems and record keeping, intranet administration, compliance-related reporting.  In addition, the person will support all other areas of HR including employee relations, compensation, and training & organization development and employment. This person will have an important role in departmental planning and decision making, identifying the effect of human resources on business planning, interpreting human resource policy, recommending, formulating and communicating new policy and programs, and recommending change programs to meet business goals and objectives.

 

 

REPRESENTATIVE WORK DUTIES

? Will have primary responsibility for benefit program administration including but not limited to: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Life/AD&D, 401K, STD, LTD, Leave of Absence programs, and Workers? Compensation. In addition the position will benchmark competitive position, monitor plan performance, propose and model plan design changes and establish effective relationships with benefit providers, consultants and brokers. 

? Serves as primary internal contact for employee benefits issues, and as company contact for brokers and vendors.  Researches and responds to benefits-related questions, processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Reviews billings for accuracy, and submits for payment. Resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company. Completes regular reporting as needed.

? Conducts new employee orientations for all staff both in-person and remotely to, ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans, enrollment provisions and company policy. Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions.

? Helps ensure that employees understand benefit programs by regularly generating communication and counseling employees/dependents as situations arise. Resolves employee complaints related to health and welfare plans. Acts as a resource to employees and Payroll to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and rules. Keeps others advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.

? Manages annual open enrollment period each year. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with, communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by providers, Conducts employee presentations. Processes changes within deadlines.

? Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.

? Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.

? Responsible for managing the Human Resource Files, Benefits Files, entering data into electronic recordkeeping systems, project files, and maintaining the accuracy, filing and distribution of files. Ensures department recordkeeping and filing is maintained and up-to-date.

? Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning HR concerns.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

? Working knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interface at all levels in the organization.

? Basic knowledge of benefit laws/regulations and ability to prepare statistical summaries, special reports from HRIS including benefit invoicing, census data, payroll information and communication materials relative to benefit changes, open enrollment, etc.

? Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Word)

? Strong attention to detail

? Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

? Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

? Excellent verbal and written communications skills

? Strong customer service orientation

? Ability to work independently, and at times alone

? Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously

? Should get along well with other staff, be outgoing and energetic, and confident to bring forward innovative ideas and concepts, as well as areas for improvement

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

? A bachelor's degree and one (1) to three (3) years of Human Resources experience including experience administering employee benefits
