Health, Safety & Environmental Affairs Manager

Core Responsibilities:

?   Responsible for assisting in the ongoing development and implementation of HS&E processes to ensure effective risk control and compliance with applicable local, state, federal and international laws, regulations and standards.

?   Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of Corporate-wide HS&E processes that will result in long-term process improvements.

?  Collect data and prepare environmental, health and safety reports, such as air emissions, hazard waste, storm water, tier II and accident/incident reports.

?  Participate in and facilitate HS&E audits, front-end process engineering events focusing on risk assessment, evaluation of new processes, and review of facility layouts for potential HS&E issues.

?  Conduct qualitative and quantitive industrial hygiene assessments.

?  Keep current on new and/or different approaches to addressing HS&E issues and technical needs through journals, professional meeting attendance and professional development/certification. 

?  Develop and execute key measures of performance in order to provide ongoing evaluation of HS&E effectiveness.

?  Provide site-level HS&E training.

 

Qualifications:

? Five to seven years of HS&E experience in a manufacturing environment.  ISO 14001 and/or OSHA VPP experience is desired. 

? Education and experience in HS&E management systems and process development.  Requires understanding of HS&E regulations and standards.

? Possesses skill set to negotiate persuasively and influence results through others.

? Ability to coach and mentor line organization to drive Safety and Health zero incident mentality.

? Team player with a strong commitment to the HS&E profession.

? High degree of accuracy and attention and attention to detail.  Excellent project management skills.

? Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to relate across all levels of the organization.

? Develops effective working relationships which foster integrity, trust and respect.
