Human Capital Manager
Human Capital Manager
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, and working closely with the President. The Human Capital Manager will have the responsibility to produce new and innovative ideas related to human capital needs, to have a major impact on the company's ability to meet its business goals, objectives, and requirements for human capital.
Requirements
n College degree or equivalent education training; or business experience
n 5+ years experience in Human Resources
n Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
n Able to multi-task, prioritize
n Demonstrated ability to influence and coach others
Major Job Objectives
n Facilitate the delivery of human capital services: including recruitment and placement, position classification and compensation, performance management, training and education, employee benefits, employee relations, employee recognition, and employee assistance (crisis management, mediation, counseling, etc.).
n Advise management on position management, workforce planning and job restructuring. Compile timely and accurate information on skills possessed by all employees and provides analyses for management's use in identifying critical skills needed, reducing skills gaps, and facilitating targeted recruitment, training/development, and retention.
n Coordinate recruiting function to identify the best strategies for filling talent needs across Practice Areas. Follow up with all employees with appropriate investments in education, training, and other opportunities to develop and retain the best possible workforce.
n Collaborate with Management to develop and implement effective communication strategies to retain key employee talent, build teamwork, and reinforce the company Vision, Mission and Values. Obtain and analyze feedback from new, existing and exiting employees to ensure continuous human capital management improvement.
n Initiate special projects, conduct evaluation studies, and recommend new policies and programs for improving the competencies and performance capability of the workforce in assigned units.
n Provide guidance and advice on appropriate performance appraisal process, expectation setting, and performance feedback processes. Obtain and analyze feedback on the effectiveness of the performance management system.
Knowledge and Skills
n Ability to plan, organize, and efficiently direct efforts to persuade management to accept and implement recommendations that may have long-term implications for the human capital needs of the organization.
n Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively to all personnel with appropriate preparation to convey information in a logical and persuasive manner.
n Ability to define problems, identify and evaluate alternatives, assess impacts, and arrive at conclusions to improve human capital needs that involve long-range planning.
n Ability to resolve critical issues, often on sensitive subjects.
