Human Resource Supervisor
Conestoga Wood Specialties is a leading manufacturer of wood components for the kitchen, bath and furniture industries and one of the area's largest employers has an opportunity for a Human Resource Supervisor.
Position Description:Create an effective employee relations environment that enables the Company to attain its business objectives, build employee commitment, minimize external influence, and ensure governmental compliance.Deliver internal and external strategies, tools and resources to attract, retain and develop employees.Responsible for leading, communicating, implementing and monitoring Diversity Management, AA/EEO goals, objectives and philosophies.Investigate, document, and respond to claims of discrimination and harassment, and other issues regarding handbook violations.Facilitate the process to insure a thorough On boarding (Orientation) process is developed, implemented and maintained for salaried exempt and non-exempt new hires and hourly new hires.Insure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and divisional policies. This includes actions relative to hiring, promotions, transfers, salary actions, performance appraisals, SOX compliance, and terminations.Facilitate the annual and mid-year Performance review process.Assume other responsibilities and special projects as necessary.
Minimum Job RequirementsBachelors Degree with an emphasis in HR Management desired.Three to five years progressive experience as an HR Generalist, including manufacturing or operations employee relations and advocacy. Two to three years experience managing direct reports preferred.Experience as an employee champion to ensure that processes and relationships are fair and equitable, and deliver communication and support systems to ensure all employees are fully engaged in the business.Ability to apply consulting skills to help all levels of the organization solve problems and make informed decisions.Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to express ideas effectively in various situations. Adjust language or terminology to characteristics and needs of a diverse group.Strong presentation skills. Ability to maintain effectiveness in various environments with multiple tasks, changing priorities, responsibilities, and people.
