Department Human Resources Job Posting Description Join the Human Resources/Learning and Development department at Children's Hospital as a Human Resources Assistant II! The qualified individual in this role coordinates the training programs sponsored by Human Resources/Learning and Development. Designs, prepares and distributes course announcements. Designs, develops, and produces information about upcoming training programs in hard copy and/or electronic formats. Assists other members of Learning and Development and Human Resources (e.g. recruiters) as necessary. Works on special projects.
The qualified candidate in this role is also responsible for the following:
-Serves as the primary contact between Human Resources/Learning and Development and the employees of Children's Hospital, Boston on all matters regarding course registration and classroom availability. Coordinates all phases of the training workshops sponsored by Human Resources/Learning and Development; schedules onsite classes; prepares publicity; records attendees; sets up training room, formats and lays out training materials and other departmental materials that requires specialized formats and lettering or graphics using customized commercial software, such as desktop publishing or graphics packages. Proofreads and edits materials for grammar, punctuation and spelling.
-Coordinates and assists in the monthly hospital-wide New Hire orientation programs. Administers the tuition assistance benefit program. Reviews applications for completeness and eligibility; processes requests by entering data into an excel spreadsheet; generates requisitions for payment.
-Collects and maintains Human Resources and chbtraining website content. Contributes to content development from initial collection through editing, page design, review and publication process. Updates content through formalized maintenance procedures.
-Designs and produces communications to announce news of upcoming and ongoing Learning and Development classes. Works with Human Resources/Learning and Development staff to schedule all classes; prepares monthly calendars of workshops.
-Maintains Human Resources/Learning and Development departmental files, records and databases and/or spreadsheets, compiling, printing and distributing periodic reports and other information as needed. Maintains department/office library of training books, video films and other training materials.
-Provides secretarial and administrative assistance to Human Resources/ Learning and Development staff; types course evaluations; attendance lists; enters attendance information into appropriate databases.
-Provides telephone and communication support to Human Resources/Learning and Development staff
-Contributes to teamwork.
-Records and processes information required for payments to trainers and vendors.
-Works with manager on special projects.
Work requires a high school level of educational development and one to two years' experience. Must be familiar with MS office suite as well as desktop publishing and database tools. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
