Job Description:

 


The Human Resources Coordinator will be supporting the Human Resources function of both BlackRock Inc. and Metric Property Management from our Newport Beach, CA office in the areas of recruitment, associate support and human resources administration.  This position will have a dual reporting relationship to the HR Business Partner in Newport Beach and the Vice President in San Francisco.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Acts as the frontline contact for human resources in the western region, supporting over 250 associates.  Handles associate inquiries and general employee relationsPosts open positions via the internet, newspapers and company website.Pre-screen candidates and determines the suitability of the applicant for employment.  Assesses and makes recommendations to the Hiring Manager based on phone screens and schedules the interview appointment.Acts as a liaison with advertising agencies, employment agencies and temporary agencies.  Processes advertising billings.Completes various recruitment related reports such as the weekly open position, weekly employment activity report and oversees the applicant tracking system.Assists with New Hire Orientation programs.Coordinates the company?s employee referral award program.Provides administrative support to the human resources function as needed (e.g. writing correspondence, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry)Responds timely to unemployment claims.Ensures company policies are administered uniformly and correctly.Assists departments in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources, including Federal and California wage and hour laws, benefit plans (401(k), medical, dental, long term disability, life insurance), and leave of absence laws (FMLA, PDL, CFRA)Extensive PC skills using MSOffice, including Word and Excel.  Prior experience with an HRIS database preferred.Requires effective oral and written communication skills.  Able to relate to employees of all levels and be tactful and professional when communicating with internal and external customers.  Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.Demonstrates maturity and sound decision-making.Requires attention to detailCustomer service driven.Ability to handle time sensitive projects and tasks effectively and efficientlyMust be dependable to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.  Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks in a high volume environment and seek feedback

 

Education and Work Experience:

 A Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources or Some college coursework plus at least 3 years experience in the Human Resources fieldPrevious experience supporting internal customers located in a remote position desirable.Must speak and write fluently in Spanish.
