Winston Flowers is a third-generation family owned high-end florist and specialty retailer headquartered in Boston, MA. Based on Winston Flowers? design expertise and style, the company has built a prominent client list and designs are featured at leading Boston-area events.
We are currently seeking a part-time (approximately 15-20 hours per week) Human Resources Coordinator to be responsible for the execution of the Human Resources processes in accordance with applicable laws, plan provisions and company policies. We look for candidates with a high level of energy, who can work independently, are self-motivating and who will thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment that provides support, resources, and rewards for excellence and achievement. This position reports to the Manager of Human Resources.
Job Responsibilities:
? Administer employee benefits, answer employee questions, assist in problem resolution and review and reconcile all benefits vendor invoices on a monthly basis
? Maintain employee files and records, including processing all employee status change paperwork such as terminations, transfers, and promotions
? Participate in the annual benefits evaluations, open enrollment processes and coordinate employee benefits meetings
? Prepare new employee orientation packets, participate in new employee orientation; enroll all new hires in applicable benefits plans and coordinate setup of IT and uniform needs
? Assist in administration of weekly payroll and provide administrative support to Payroll Manager
? Assist in the performance management process including notifications to management and tracking of completed reviews
? Deactivate terminated employees, follow-up on post-employment activities, such as COBRA; administer COBRA program
? First point of contact for all workers? compensation claims, maintain communication with employee, carrier and medical providers
? Manage and track all FMLA absences
? Draft employee communication memos as needed
? Maintain a working knowledge and keep abreast of changes to employee benefits plans
? Partner with Manager of Human Resources on management of employee events and recognition programs
? Assist Manager of Human Resources in special projects and administrative tasks as needed
Requirements:
? 1+ years experience in Human Resources function, with a working knowledge of employment laws
? Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience
? Proactive and analytical with a customer service orientation
? Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability manage multiple projects with varying priorities simultaneously
? Solid written and verbal communications skills
? Must be flexible and have the ability to resolve issues independently in a fast-paced environment
? Ability to work with highly confidential, time-sensitive materials and issues
? Must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office programs
