This position will direct the HR practices and strategies in support of the Central region of Avenue A|Razorfish, a business unit responsible for digital marketing services. . Based in Chicago, this position will partner with HR Directors and Managers from other operating units to ensure the successful implementation and uniform administration of company-wide initiatives and practices.
Responsibilities:
Leads the HR strategy for the Central region. Serve as an HR business partner to the Central region president and his leadership team. Partner with managers and other staff to facilitate the resolution of employee relations? issues in a timely manner. Accountable for developing and executing human resources plans to ensure that our best talent is placed in the right positions, through recruiting and on-going development. Work closely with Recruiting and Resource Management to recruit and select employees for all positions within the region. Provide coaching and counseling to managers on performance management issues; integral leader in annual review process. Ensure policies, practices and procedures are administered in a fair and consistent manner and in accordance with all applicable local, state and/or federal laws. Contribute to the development and implementation of new policies as required. With HR Operations, support benefits administration, open enrollment, annual salary adjustment process, bi-annual promotion process and similar initiatives to ensure seamless and on-time implementation. Research and recommend development programs that will enhance overall organizational effectiveness and enhance the ability of the company and the assigned division meet its strategic goals. Stay informed of changes and innovations in the field of human resource management and industry practices. Travel to other work locations may be required, up to 25%. Special Projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
10 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience comprised of HR leadership with primary focus in: performance management, employee relations, training and organizational development as well as solid recruiting experience for a variety of technical and non-technical positions A bachelor?s degree in business, HR or a related field or the equivalent combination of experience and education is required. A Master?s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or related field a plus. HR certification (PHR or SPHR) is strongly desired. Three or more years of experience managing the human resources function, including direct HR team management. Experience managing remote teams is preferred. Proven ability to manage projects to successful completion, multi-task, and work within tight deadlines. Experience working in an entrepreneurial culture as well as a larger, established company is desired. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff. Ability to stand firm and remain committed when necessary and facilitate understanding when difficult or adverse decisions must be addressed or made. Exceptional ability to partner across cross-functional teams and multiple work groups to accomplish assigned tasks and duties. Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced, results driven, rapidly changing environment ? with minimal daily oversight. Flexibility is a must in this position.. Has familiarity with HRIS systems and Windows business applications e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience working in a professional services firm or advertising agency is preferred.
