HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
We offer a unique opportunity to join the most ambitious new furniture concept in the country. Living Spaces Furniture offers the largest selection of home furniture in Southern California, everyday low prices and same day delivery. We are looking for a Human Resource Manager to manage, develop, implement solid H.R practices in our retail store located in La Mirada.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and assist the Human Resource Department in evaluating staffing needs, hiring or moving associates. This includes writing and placing ads on appropriate media, administering and coordinating internal job posting, screening resumes, pre-screening potential candidates face to face and via phone, scheduling interviews, conducting reference/background checks, extending offers and preparing offer/rejection letters and conduct new hire orientation.
- Manage and direct the on-boarding process (including training new employees on the skills and behaviors that associates need to perform their duties).
- Serve as the store's intermediate contact on HR policies, processes and employee relations issues, providing guidance to management on HR matters.
- Implement coaching to associates on performance expectations, attendance and store goals.
- Monitor and enforce meal and break requirements.
- Schedule and plan work of associates (including evaluating and responding to request for time off, availability changes and leave of absence requests).
- Coordinate the termination process (including final pay coordination).
- Track and monitor attendance compliance.
- Upkeep of employee files, management files related to HR matters and requisition files.
- Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees
-Assists in organizational training and development efforts and participates as needed
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or Business related discipline, including executive level training in business management, and five (5) years' HR experience, or a related masters degree and three (3) years' Human Resources experience, or a master's degree in Human Resources Management and two (2) years experience in the HR field, or 10+ years experience in the HR field, or any appropriate combination of education, certification, and related experience.
* 3+ years HR Management experience in a retail environment
* English with excellent communication skills verbally and in writing is a must.
* Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent communication skills verbally and in writing is a plus.
* Expert skills in employee relations and 3+ years experience managing a team of HR and administrative professionals.
* Professional level ability to interface effectively with company executives, supervisors and all levels of management and employees.
* Must also have excellent, influencing skills, interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to multi task in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends
