Summary:
Develop, implement and maintain company policy and procedure. Manage and supervise all functional areas within responsibility to include but not limited to, salary administration, payroll, benefits, training, labor relations and recruiting. Keep department managers abreast of changes in employment law as well as assure legal compliance. Make recommendations and volunteer creative ideas, trends, and new developments within the human resources and personnel areas. Work independently and make decisions that are in the best interest of the organization.
Essential Functions:
1. Overall responsibility for the Human Resources functional area.
2. Responsible for the interpretation and application of Human Resources policies, recommending changes and monitoring of compliance.
3. Ability to focus on corporate objectives and maintain open communication.
4. Responsible for management of Human Resources programs such as recruitment, compensation, diversity, performance management, employee development, etc.
5. Provide leadership, vision and development of staff through training, coaching and mentoring.
6. Develop, coordinate and conduct some training programs within human resources area.
7. Review, administer and update insurance and benefits package.
8. Assist plant manager with update of pay grade levels and other salary administration functions.
9. Coordinate performance and salary reviews.
10. Payroll management.
11. Participate and help coordinate plant safety programs.
12. Prepare and manage Human Resources budget.
13. Represent company in Workers? Compensation and unemployment insurance matters. Insure OSHA compliance.
14. Administer and monitor FMLA and STD paperwork.
15. Manages Human Resources records.
16. Provide HR support for HR activities such as continuous improvement initiatives, affirmative action plan, integration, acquisitions, divestitures, and reductions in force.
17. Minimal travel for training seminars/conferences, etc.
Experience/Education:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources/Business/ or related field required plus equivalent of three to five years experience in the Human Resources field with two years supervisory experience. PHR and/or SPHR preferred. Bi-lingual is preferred in English/Spanish.
