Human Resources Manager - Manufacturing Company - Upland, CA

UVP, Inc. is an international leader in the design & production of innovative laboratory instrumentation and products utilizing ultraviolet technology.  We are seeking a knowledgeable, personable, business savvy individual to manage our Human Resources Department.  The Human Resources Manager will handle the full range of HR duties, including safety and worker?s comp issues for approximately 110 person headquarters/manufacturing facility.

 

RESPONSIBILITIESEmployee relations Recruitment, all levels, direct and through staffing agencies Interfaces with and supports all departments (manufacturing, product development, customer service, sales, accounting, etc.). Compensation plan and increases; performance review schedule Training and development Advise and assist with disciplinary action and terminations; provide coaching for management staff and employeesBenefit bid process, broker and carrier selection, and benefit administration Safety, including, Safety Committee, safety audits, evacuation plan401(k) plan administrationWorker?s Comp administration, investigations, and follow-up on issues Affirmative Action Plan and annual statistics, EEO1 and Vets 100 reportingStrategic and succession planning  Recommend policy and handbook additions or revisions as needed, to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; work with legal counsel as neededHandle immigration process, through attorney, as needed for visa or green card sponsorship Coordinate facility maintenance, including contractor selection Prepares HR reports and recommends action plans Represents Company at personnel-related hearings and investigationsSupervise Receptionist and HR AssistantOther duties as needed

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor Degree, with HR or Business concentration, or equivalent experience required.  Minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution environment.  Must have thorough knowledge of relevant California and Federal regulations, superb interpersonal skills with all levels of staff, and excellent English communication (verbal and written) skills.  Bi-lingual Spanish helpful.

 

Must be proficient in use of computers, including Excel and Word.  Must be experienced and proficient with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to human resources management.
