Human Resources-Mgr (Corporate Benefits)
Job Description: Top corporate benefits position reporting to the VP of Human Resources and partnering closely with Director Rewards. Responsible for the planning, evaluation and administration of Intersil's domestic and international employee benefit programs and U.S. Health Services. Conducts analysis and oversees design and development of plan changes as necessary to ensure competitive and cost effective benefit plans on a global basis. Works with vendors, consultants and regional HR management to ensure benefit plans are competitive, compliant and meet service level standards. Presents strategic and tactical recommendations regarding benefits programs to senior management. Works closely with HR Business Partners to ensure seamless migration of plans and programs from development stage to implementation. Develops employee communication programs using various media to keep employees informed about company benefit plans and changes. Consults with other departments (e.g. finance, payroll, legal, HRIS, compensation) to address coverage, services, costs and legal requirements associated with benefit plans. Manages a staff of exempt and non-exempt personnel involved in the implementation and maintenance of the company's benefits programs.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees management of benefits programs on a global basis.
- Oversees Health Services department in the U.S.
- Program and vendor management of health and welfare programs in the U.S. and partners with HR managers in Japan, Asia Pacific and European regions to effectively manage global programs and vendors.
- Conducts ongoing analysis to ensure plans are cost effective and competitive.
- Assists with vendor selection, negotiations and renewals.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manages annual benefits Open Enrollment.
- Assists in resolution of escalated issues.
- Assists in international benefits review and maintenance/reporting of global benefits costs.
- Partners with Finance Department to manage Intersil's retirement plan, including 401(k) Plan administration, and deferred compensation programs.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance benefits portfolio with creative cost effective options such as Prepaid Legal, Long-Term Care Insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), etc.
- Creates proactive approaches and presentations to employee communications regarding benefits programs and options.
- Partners with Rewards Group to provide and communicate competitive total compensation programs - salary, equity, benefits.
- Manages benefits administration department and provides outstanding customer service to general workforce.
- Establishes creative and effective communications of benefits programs via company website.
- Identifies opportunities to ?pool? benefits programs and vendors for cost effective solutions.
- Develops competitive cost effective programs related to sick pay, vacation, educational assistance, disability insurance, life insurance, etc.
- Ensures benefits function is ?window? to the outside world regarding competitive practices and contemporary approaches.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 - 12 years of benefits management; preferably with some exposure to the semiconductor/high tech sector
- Demonstrated ability to bring to any task strong:
o analytical and problem solving skills
o communication (verbal and written) skills
o project leadership
o vendor management
