We are currently seeking an experienced, progressive, results-oriented, HR person to join our team. As the Human Resources Director, this position has broad responsibilities for administering human resource programs and functions within the company, providing technical assistance to management and executive staff as needed, and interpreting and ensuring compliance with HR rules, policies, and regulations. The position is at will, career exempt, and maintains a confidential relationship with the management team.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment, selection, classification, orientation, training and development, benefits, fair employment practices, employee assistance, workers? compensation, employee relations, counseling and terminations.
Tasks include:
* Ensures conformance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
* Develops and communicates policies and procedures
* Recruits, interviews, and screens applicants
* Maintains employee and driver files
* Coordinates and administers benefit programs
* Responds to various requests for employment verification
* Investigates and mitigates workers compensation claims
* Develops and conducts employee orientation and training plans/programs
* Conducts employee counseling and terminations
* Performs job analyses and develops/updates job descriptions as jobs are created or tasks change
* Performs employee relations function and works pro-actively with managers to develop strategies for the resolution of human resource problems
* Reviews legislation to determine impact on the company; gives recommendations regarding implementation of passed legislation
KSAs include:
* Principles, theories, and practices of human resources management, employee relations, recruitment and selection, job classification/analysis
* Applicable federal and state employment laws
* Employee benefits such as insurance, paid and unpaid leave
* Research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information
Skills/Ability to:
* Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions
* Read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
* Efficiently use automated software applications (including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications, Windows, Internet, and other PC applications)
* Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally or in writing, to members of all levels within the organization.
* Deal with people in a manner which displays respect and professionalism
* Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
* Speak before a group of people, in order to facilitate or lead hearings, meetings, or work groups as needed
* Deliver presentations or training using appropriate methods and techniques
* Develop curriculum, learning objectives, and/or course materials
* Perform routine mathematical calculations in order to calculate percentages, refunds, etc.
