JF&CS - Benefits Administrator / Human Resources Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for the overall administration of group insurance programs offered to staff and hourly employees of the Agency. Maintain a current listing of the participants for each of the plans i.e. medical, dental, life and disability, 403b and garnishments. Provide backup Human Resources Generalist assistance to Human Resource Manager as needed and act as a backup resource for the Payroll function.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

?  Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the group insurance programs, i.e. medical, dental, life, disability, Flexible Spending plans and retirement, offered to salaried and hourly employees by the agency. Includes enrolling new employees, dropping separated employees who do not elect to continue via COBRA.

?  Responsible for the timely monthly payments of the 403B plan and group insurance plans.

?  Co-ordinate the annual group reopening of the medical and dental plans and the medical and dependent care FSA plans.

?  Verify the accuracy of the monthly billing each of the insurance carriers submits and correct any errors.

?  Initiate COBRA letters offering continuance of Group medical and dental to employees who have separated from the agency maintain COBRA records for continuation or cancellation of benefits. .

?  Participate in the monthly orientation of field (hourly) employees as necessary or required.

?  Participate with finance in the annual budget process for all insurance and payroll costs.

?  Complete survey information for insurance carriers and other Human Resource suppliers.

?  Complete requested payroll information needed by government agencies and private sources for the agencies and its employees. 

?  Provide backup support for the Human Resource function as needed by the Human Resources Manager.

?  Provide backup for the Payroll function as needed.

?  Perform other duties as required or as directed.
