Manager, Alliance Plan Administration

Position Details:  

Sentinel Benefits Group is seeking a full-time, hands-on Manager to manage our Alliance Plans? Administration team.  This team is responsible for all ongoing administration functions for our defined contribution clients whose plan assets are invested with one of our alliance partners .  This Manager will be responsible for:

 Monitoring workflow of department to ensure that legal deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded at every opportunity

 Evaluate resources on an ongoing basis and coordinate with Vice President, Retirement Plan Services and other Managers as needed

 Supervision, coaching and training of administrators

 Holding regular meetings with team members.  These meetings should be used to monitor workflow and disseminate information regarding overall Retirement Plan Services issues

 Attending bi-weekly department meetings to share issues, concerns, provide solutions, share resources

 Prioritizing projects throughout the year for clients, including testing, valuation preparation, client mailings, document projects and cleanup projects

 Involvement in budgeting, management of personnel costs, and other financial decisions for the teams.

 Day to day interaction with clients and participants, proactively identifying and resolving client and participant issues

 Coordinating with other teams (ex. EDI, Finance, IT, Client Services) to ensure smooth processing

 Develop new methods to deliver administration services more efficiently and support initiatives for the redesign of processes

 Coordinating with Transition Team and Sales Consultants regarding administrative capabilities and services.  May involve preparation with Transition Team and Sales Consultants regarding presale client presentations.

 

 

Position Experience: 

The ideal candidate will possess: 5+ years of related industry experience in defined contribution plan administration, including 401k, Profit Sharing or Money Purchase Plans, ESOPS, Non-Qualified plans.  Also, experience with Cross-Tested Plans and Related Employer Plans, Multiple Employer Plans, Control or Affiliated Groups, Safe Harbor Plans. Current working knowledge of IRS, ERISA and DOL regulations Proven leadership abilities and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers and management; strong skills in managing managing multiple and diverse projects simultaneouslyExperience writing and presenting performance reviews, corrective action and departmental updates/feedback.Detailed-oriented, self-motivated and self-directedPossess excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and organization skills. Excellent computer skills are essential.  Knowledge of Relius software is a plus.
