Taking its name from the African word "jama," meaning to celebrate, Jamba Juice is very much an American entrepreneurial success. Founded in 1990 as The Juice Club by Kirk Perron, Jamba now operates nearly 600 stores nationwide (combined company-owned and franchised). Jamba, headquartered in San Francisco, also has partnership agreements with area developers in Hawaii and Texas and operates stores on college campuses and in airport locations across the country. Our locations are unique and colorful quick serve restaurants with annual volume ranging from $.4m to $1.5m and are often found in freestanding, outdoor malls to accommodate our active customers.
Primary Role:
The Manager, Field Training is responsible for the design, development, execution and evaluation of learning objectives, content, format, and delivery vehicles for high quality training materials and programs to educate and develop Front Line Team Members, Training Mentors, Team Leads, Managers-In-Training, Assistant and General Managers, and Training Store Managers.
Essential Functions:
? Collaborates extensively with subject matter experts and Field management to analyze training needs, design effective performance improvement solutions, and align learning initiatives with business objectives
? Represents Field Training team on cross-functional project teams including but not limited to company-wide business initiatives and marketing campaigns.
? Assesses business issues to determine and recommend training and non-training solutions to address performance gaps.
? Responsible for the design, development, execution and evaluation of multi-media training materials and programs to support new and ongoing business initiatives. Will both develop instructional materials and will direct the work of others.
? Partners with Regional Training Managers to provide analysis and feedback on training curricula.
? Designs, develops and facilitates Train the Trainer sessions for new programs to Field and Support Center staff
? Ensures training materials and programs are aligned with current business needs and are sustainable for the future.
? Manages external vendor relationships including soliciting bids, monitoring spending, editing, printing, and distributing materials.
? Ensures all training materials reflect the look and feel of the Jamba brand.
? Directs training material and program execution logistics. May manage others to execute logistics plans.
? Lead ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Skills Required:
? Advanced interviewing, instructional analysis, and evaluation skills and the ability to translate analysis results into practical learning solutions.
? Instructional design including needs assessment, design, development, execution and evaluation skills
? Design and development of print, classroom and on-the-job training materials. Web based training development skills highly desirable.
? Must be comfortable to both design and develop materials and programs on own and to direct and evaluate the work of others developing materials and programs.

Education:
? Bachelor?s Degree in Instructional Design, Business, Training, Performance Technology, Education, Human Resource Management or related required.
? Advanced degree in any of the above preferred.
Required experience:
3+ years:
? Instructional design including print, on-the-job and classroom in fast growth company (preferably field based retail environment)
? Solid knowledge applying adult learning theory
? Training evaluation/return-on-investment
? Individual and group facilitation and presentation
? Cross-functional team experience
? People management (direct reports)

? Logistics management

NOTE: In late December 2006, Jamba Juice will be re-locating its headquarters from San Francisco to the East Bay, most likely Emeryville. The final location has not been finalized as of yet but the lease on our San Francisco Support Center is up at the end of December necessitating a move.
