Oversees Human Resources function of non-union manufacturing facility for Nestl USA Confections and Snacks Division at Itasca, IL. The selected individual will be responsible for designing, planning and implementing human resources programs and policies serving as a critical member of the Plant's leadership team. Provides HR vision and strategic guidance ensuring employee relations principles to support union free status, facility compliance with HR and Safety Related federal and state regulations and corporate policies (EEO, AAP, ADA, FMLA and OSHA). Supervises a staff of three, including Safety Supervisor, HR Generalist and Future Manufacturing Coordinator. Excellent Communications skills, written and verbal, ability to champion conflict resolution, provides visionary leadership and leads change initiatives. Candidates with fluency in Spanish, written and verbal will be preferred.
Fosters and leads a positive associate relations environment in support of a union free and continuous improvement principles. This includes directing internal communications, overseeing activity and recreational committees, attitude surveys or similar tools, conflict resolution and open door programs. Responsible for factories safety record. Provide guidance on safety program to insure factory maintains a world class safety record. Insure OSHA compliance and manages Workers Compensation claims.Interprets, communicates and ensures compliance with all State, Federal and Company policies to include FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEO/ADA and adhering to Nestl's internal investigation procedures. Acts as coach and advisor to plant leadership team on employee topics such as policy administration, disciplinary issues, training and development and overall associate relations.Administers wage and benefit programs for hourly and salaried associates ensuring coordination of Performance Management/Salary Administration and approval process as it relates to new hires/existing associates. Manages full-cycle recruiting and selection process for all hourly and salaried positions utilizing selection tools such as behavioral based interviewing, testing and other competency-based resources. Provides support to formal recruitment and development efforts in the area of the Operations Management Trainee programs.Coordinate plant-training efforts, salaried and hourly, on various compliance and development topics: Harassment/diversity, progressive discipline, reasonable suspicion drug testing and other associate high involvement topics for salaried and hourly workforce. Champion of salaried training and development efforts to support associate empowerment principles utilizing Nestle University and other resources. Oversee Department of Commerce Training Grant application and reconciliation efforts.Oversees Human Resources Information Systems to include Attendance and Vacation Tracking Systems, HR SAP, Employee and Manager Self Service tools.
5-7 years of Human Resource experience in a manufacturing environment. 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
BS/BA degree, preferably in Human Resources Management or related field. Fluency in Spanish, written and verbal. Excellent communication skills written and verbal. High energy level and excellent follow up skills. Innovative problem solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Excellent people skills including maintaining a positive attitude. The ability to motivate and develop people. Work extended hours as necessary. Provide coverage and participation for a 24 hour manufacturing facility. The ability to meet business needs while maintaining a positive HR atmosphere. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and other software applications.
