National Benefits Coordinator

The primary intent of this position is to provide support o the HR functions across all locations of the company for all benefit related issues.  In doing so, this position will require interaction with HR Managers, Generalists, and Assistants as well as Payroll Managers and Coordinators.  As a corporate position, it is also expected that this position will include one on one interaction with employees at all levels of the organization.  The secondary intent of this position is to provide data entry, reporting, audit and analysis for the Corporate Benefits Department including monthly carrier billing, eligibility reporting & administration, HRIS entry locations as well as external benefit vendors and agencies.

 Support the HR function across all divisions of the company in regards to enrollment and administration of the group benefits plans. Assesses the need and prioritizes issues related to benefits that come to the department?s attention.

 Enter and maintain benefit data in HRIS and is responsible for transmission of data files to carriers and vendors on scheduled basis. Maintain and document HRIS transactions as it pertains to benefits

 Prepares billing reports and monthly allocation of carrier and vendor bills. Maintains fiscal year reporting for costs of all benefit programs

 Performs periodic audits of benefit plans, as it pertains to eligible enrollments, indicative data, premium payments, and payroll deductions.

 Assist with other special HR projects as necessary such as plan implementation, formal audits, plan testing, and policy and procedure manuals, etc.

 Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion

 Must be able to learn and maintain up to date knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations which control or impact benefit plans (i.e. ERISA, COBRA, HIPPAA  etc.) as well as company policies pertaining to benefits, and work within the requirements set by these regulations. Must be able to enforce these requirements at all levels of the organization

 Support the training needs of the HR function throughout the company in relation to benefit administration and assisting with documentation of process flows, administrative summaries and standard operations procedures.

 Coordinate all Annual Open Enrollment activity with guidance from Corporate Benefits Manager

 Resolve elevated claims issues on all benefit plans.

 Coordinate distribution of Benefit Statements, SPD?s, HIPAA notices, COBRA notices for all plans for new hire, new enrollee, etc.

 

Required Qualifications and Measures:

 High School Diploma/ G.E.D.

 Completion of a Bachelor?s and/or Associate Degree Program at an accredited college

 3+ years of experience in a Benefits or Human Resources related position with increased responsibly

 Membership in SHRM, World at Work or other HR/Benefits organization

 Strong Customer Service orientation

 Excellent communication and decision making skills

 Proficient knowledge relating benefit program administration and design

 Ability to work independently and as a team player

 Ability to prioritize, and provide feedback and observations as it relates to a departmental performance

 Ability to research information on various subject types and provide concise reports
