Location: Sandpoint, ID
This position is responsible for the development of training and development
programs. Such programs will be geared toward the initial training and ongoing
development of newly hired retail store leadership. This job contributes to
Coldwater Creeks success by facilitating the development and training process,
implementing partner development and training solutions to ensure consistency
and relevancy of training programs. Responsible for the day-to-day coordination
of training programs.
Job Responsibilities:
Consults with appropriate stakeholders within various departments regarding training needs to meet retail business objectives. Develops implementation strategies to ensure training initiatives and program goals are met. Collaborates with team members to leverage existing programs and create best practices.
Develops new programs and instructional materials. Partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Selects appropriate training aids. Prepares written training collateral, ensuring programs are integrated and aligned with existing or anticipated programs.
Recommends program enhancements and tools that are current and relevant to training objectives in conjunction with facilitating on-going process improvements. Using training best practices, this position leads the development and continuous improvement of curriculum.
Developing and/or administering curriculum for more in-depth skills training to build field leadership confidence and abilities, including selling and wardrobing skills, operational procedures, visual standards, communication skills, customer service techniques, time management, etc.
Partners with Retail Operations, Field Leadership and Training Team members to uncover new training opportunities and incorporating these into curricula. Works to support the development and/or execution of Leadership Development training initiatives.
Tracks and analyzes training programs by examining learner satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance. Implements suggestions for improvements. Measures the impact of training programs on business results.
Shares knowledge and skills with less experienced trainers in the areas of needs assessment, development, design, delivery and program evaluation.
Maintains effective partnerships to anticipate and respond to business needs.
Special projects as required.
Minimum Requirements:
BA in training, instructional design and development or related field.
3-5 years experience in delivery of retail adult training programs.
4 years experience delivering training programs, facilitating groups and development of presentations.
Demonstrated experience in utilizing adult-learning techniques.
Previous experience in developing training curricula geared toward development of retail field leaders.
Previous leadership experience, preferably in a retail training environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong public speaking/presentation skills.
Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat and PowerPoint.
Strong leadership skills; ability to work within large collaborative organizations.
Ability to design training programs, establish plans, deliver trainings and manage through execution.
Desired Requirements:
Advanced degree in training, instructional design, communications, or related field.
Prior retail training experience.
