GENERAL PURPOSE

Supports Regional Human Resources initiatives by coordinating payroll activities for all North American sites. Administration of multi-state tax and payroll related issues and other HR related functions.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Payroll Responsibilities

1.  Collect and process payroll information according to the weekly and bi-weekly payroll schedules. Maintain payroll database system changes and updates.

2.  Invoices each site for reimbursement of payroll related expenses such as employee wages, SUI, 401(k), etc

3.  Generates accounting reports according to established criteria, schedules and ad hoc

4.  Keep current of payroll processing system and corresponds with payroll vendor with regards to changes in wage and tax laws and with federal state and local tax agencies

5.  Performs payroll related benefits administration functions including but not limited to preparation and submission of 401(k) and deferred compensation monies to third party administrator

Maintains records, reports and logs to conform to audit and inspection regulations

Compensation Responsibilities

1.  Monitors records for pay irregularities; reviews changes in compensation law.

2.  Conducts surveys and analyzes results for compensation planning

3.  Provide advice on the resolution of classification and salary complaints.

Participate in position description creation & evaluation, prepare reports to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.

General Responsibilities

1.  Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of services performed and systems utilized.

Performs other related duties as required and assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor?s degree preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Management or equivalent experience

3-5 years multi-state payroll experience required

2-4 years compensation experience desired

Experience with ADP Payroll systems required

Accounting experience preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of federal and state labor laws

Technical knowledge on broad range of HR functions and aspects

Good interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate at various levels within the organization

Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team oriented environment

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ADP Payroll systems

Very detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines

Problem solving skills

Ability to lift no more than 25lbs
