Payroll Compliance Analyst - (12362)

Proactively monitors sources of federal, state, and local regulatory changes pertaining to payroll, tax, employment, labor, and human resource requirements and identifies changes that have an impact on Ceridian's products and services.
Documents critical findings, obtains clarification of any confusing or ambiguous regulatory language, and informs the business in plain language about the threats, risks and opportunities implied actions stemming from the regulations.
Translates regulatory requirements into business solution proposals.
Acts as a knowledge resource to other areas of the business, including Service, Support, Marketing and Product Management.
Supports the Payroll Compliance Manager in communicating compliance issues to our customers and to our internal staff.
Qualifications:


Education:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or accounting.
Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in an intermittently high-pressure, tight-deadline, multi-priority environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows (and Microsoft Office products), good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Two years or more of experience with payroll or handling payroll withholding taxation and related filing and reporting requirements.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Thorough grasp of the elements and structure of payroll withholding taxes.
Knowledge of other payroll and employment related regulatory requirements such as pension and retirement plans, minimum wage (FLSA), garnishments, levies, tip reporting, weeks worked, 12th day counts, hours reporting, workers' compensation, quarterly reporting, annual W-2 reporting, and annual 1099-R reporting.
Understanding of basic finance and accounting principles.

Pluses:
Advanced payroll and/or accounting and business knowledge.
Familiarity with product management concepts.
Fundamental understanding of project management.
Experience growing a tax or other compliance services business. Knowledge and experience with Signature Payroll, tax filing, Ceridian front-end products such as HR/PR Web or HR/PR Access/SQL/Assist or other national or regional Payroll service company products would also be a plus. Experience working with Information Technology (IT) and/or computer payroll application developers.
Six Sigma training and/or certification.
Experience in customer relations and/or training associated with payroll and tax. Payroll or human resource product sales experience would also be desirable.
