Principal HR Consultant - Assessment Lead

Responsibilities/Expectations: ? Provide strategic expertise and direction for the development and implementation of hiring-based selection and assessment programs on a global scale for Motorola.
? Design an integrated assessment strategy that aligns with the businesses to drive long term value in the organization.
? Drives the integration of agreed selection and assessment programs into Global Staffing hiring practices and among hiring managers
? Follows, as necessary, external practices, and keeps abreast of leading edge processes and technique by utilizing benchmarking, professional contacts and professional conferences.
?Serves as an internal subject matter expert.
? Defines and implements short and longer-term objectives; formulate direction on assessment practices/programs including the development of new guidelines, procedures, policies and strategies
? If strategic direction supports their use, reviews, selects and negotiates with suppliers
? Manages own operating budget
? Maintains accountability for results and outcomes of HR selection programs, teams and initiatives as they relate to and support a broader business context and outcome
? Identifies, assesses and effectively manages inherent complex organizational implications and concerns
? Makes decisions that have a significant effect on the success of HR and the businesses (quality of hire)
? Works closely with senior HR management on strategic HR and/or organizational effectiveness of programs
? Plans and assigns broad objectives across multiple constituents/sub functions and ensures implementation through others
? Reports into senior HR leadership team member
? Partners with HR service providers and business unit clients through the application of specific HR expertise related to assessment combined with general business knowledge
? Develops, assesses and proposes varied methodologies and solutions and subsequently implements new programs/tools and service delivery methods
? Works on problems of moderate to high complexity involving an evaluation of intangible factors such as environment scanning, visioning and choosing from numerous viable options and where best solutions may not be readily apparent
? Maintains responsibility for consequence
of errors (that may have long term legal and public relation consequences to the organization)
? Directs talent acquisition practice/process for selection including strategy development and high-level implementation
? Requires regular HR executive level influence and interface
? Interfaces at multiple levels in the organization, including senior HR leadership, staffing, BHR, and business managers
? May interface with MU to develop training programs and serve as a subject SME
? May interface with HRIS to develop technological solutions to staffing processes^^
Knowledge Skills: ?Typically possesses an advanced degree (minimum Masters, *Ph.D. desired) and over ten years of directly related experience.
*Must have in-depth knowledge of Psychometric testing. Responsible for architecture of Assessment Tools.
? Requires comprehensive knowledge of assessment and selection processes and operates as a senior internal subject matter expert on same (expert in statistical analysis/review of procedures, ethical and cultural implications of assessment, knowledge of the global legal environment regarding utilization of assessment).
? Previous experience with the design development and roll out of assessment processes on a global scale in large (Fortune 100) organizations.
