POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Human Resource Director will report to the Vice President, Human Resources, and is responsible for all HR related strategies for a defined geographic area in accordance with the policies and practices of the Corporation. Responsibilities also include the ethical and social consciences of business and society and the laws, regulations, and administrative rulings of governmental organizations. The role will work strategically with the territory?s Management team as well as support all levels of the employee population. He/She will also recommend process improvements either individually or through team participation.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Organize, implement, direct and evaluate the Area?s human resource processes. Participate in the development of the Area?s plans and programs as a strategic partner, and particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into Area HR operational plans. Evaluate and consult on the impact of new programs and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the employees. Develop and execute Area staffing plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the corporation for key positions of responsibility. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for Area positions. Administer compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance and increase team member self-sufficiency. Implement programs to allow the corporation to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds, and to permit the full development and performance of all employees. Implement human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps, and to develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps. Participate in proper succession planning programs, implement training and development, and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and the understanding of the business and the industry. Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. Implement policies and programs for effective management of the people resources in the Area. Included, but not limited to, would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development. Provide technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resources discipline. Manage other areas such as relocation, employee communication, employee safety and health labor relations and community relations. Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization. Manage all employee relations issues for the area including legal and DOL requirements. You must be open to travel throughout the assigned area. Travel average is 20%
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Education equivalent to Bachelor?s Degree, or the equivalent in related work experience. Six or more years of successful experience in a senior HR leadership role.
