Resource Manager- FSO (Supervising Associate) (Boston)-006P6
Description This Resource Manager will work within Core Assurance of the Financial Services Office. Individuals in the Resource Manager, Supervising Associate role have a greater scope of responsibility than Resource Associates in that they oversee the staffing function for an office or cluster of offices. Generally they will have other Resource Associates reporting to them.
This role may also consist of individuals with responsibility for all levels within a single practice line across several offices
NOTE: This role performs all the functions of the Resource Associate (below in captions), however the scope of responsibility is greater as detailed above.
(Within our dynamic and talented firm, theResource Associatewill be responsible for matching resource needs with availability for a specific product line and/or geographic area, as well as working with otherResource Associatesacross area lines to level workloads.
TheResource Associatewill be responsible for resolving scheduling conflicts. In addition to assigning appropriate client service personnel to projects using scheduling requests submitted by our personnel, the successful candidate will also monitor availability through E&Y's Automated Resource Management System (ARMS). Resource Associates are also responsible for providing reports and data to assist engagement hour forecasting within area and product lines.
Responsibilities
Monitor, analyze, and process schedule requests submitted by engagement personnel. Monitor, validate and process adjustments and feedback on engagement personnel's schedules. Monitor available and/or overbooked situations and projects assigned to phantom resources.
Make global adjustments (schedule hours, firm holidays, meetings, etc.) in E&Y's Automated Resource Management System as necessary.
Review and address projects in which scheduling action is required. Reassign projects as client service personnel join or leave the practice, or if workloads are shifted and balanced.
Monitor utilization reports for inconsistencies and investigate as necessary. Periodically review the personnel roster. Develop and prepare area-wide reports relating to utilization, time reporting, forecasting and related matters.
Act as a change agent for the scheduling process. Assist in the education of client service personnel on the scheduling process. Perform other related duties as required).
Additional Responsibilities of Resource Manager:
At an office/cluster level, provides pertinent resource planning details and analyses to assist in supporting area and/or local office fiscal planning activities.
Works closely with HR in supporting the on-boarding process of both campus and experienced hires into the practice. Ensures individuals are scheduled on appropriate engagements and developmental activities which support each individuals career goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Supervision Responsibilities:
May oversee resource coordinators or admin support staff, but will not always have supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Received:
Minimal supervision on a day to day basis must be able to work independently and be able to set priorities as appropriate. Consults with RM execs only as needed regarding issues/conflicts they can not resolve.
Other Requirements:
Approximately 10% overtime generally incurred
Some travel will be necessary
Resource Managers must be responsive to changing priorities and must be able to identify conflicts and suggest potential alternatives while dealing with personnel who may be resistant to the scheduling process or dealing with stressful situations. Must also be able to work in a connected environment where face-to-face communications with their peer group and primary contacts is not always possible.
