The Senior Human Capital Partner contributes to the business segment’s financial and operational performance by applying human capital knowledge and expertise to the strategic business planning and implementation process. As a member of the business’ management team and the enterprise-wide Human Capital team, this critical role monitors people related metrics and trends, identifies root causes for issues, and utilizes customized human capital solutions that leverage shared services and UnitedHealth Group Human Capital best practices.

 

The Senior Human Capital Partner role:

 

?  Partners with business leadership to define the impact of strategic business objectives on people and develops strategies and initiatives that support the business objectives.

?  Identifies business needs and engages Shared Services’ resources to create and implement pragmatic solutions to achieve business goals and strategic objectives.

?  Operationalizes human capital initiatives, quantifies results, and monitors and measures effectiveness.

 

Other Key Responsibilities:

 

?  Strategic Planning: Understands the industry, business and the business segment priorities. Represents the human capital perspective during the strategic business planning process and establishes strategic business plans and long-range goals. Conducts cost benefit analyses for all potential approaches and solutions. Identifies opportunities to gain competitive advantage. Evaluates impact of HR strategies and initiatives on business objectives.

?  Data and Trend Analysis: Understands the business metrics used to measure the business segment’s performance. Uses data to identify people trends, patterns, issues and opportunities that impact the business. Gathers and analyzes data to identify root causes of issues and trends. Working with HRMS support team, develops and analyzes comprehensive suite of reports used to manage human capital’s impact on the business and makes appropriate decisions as a result. Conducts in-depth supply and demand analyses of the current and future people and competency needs of the organization and develops strategies and plans to meet those needs.

?  Change Management: Facilitates a shared vision and urgency for changes by clarifying how the changes will help the organization meet business goals and by articulating the benefits of change. Motivates and involves stakeholders to help implement and support change and develops strategies to deal with resistance to change. Develops and executes change management plans, including communication strategies, in support of business change. Applies systematic thinking to multiple change initiatives. Monitors and measures progress against the change continuum.

?  Resource Management: Utilizes Shared Services’ resources to ensure integrated and cost effective solutions to segment business needs. Develops effective partnerships with HRdirect, Recruitment Services, Human Capital Development, Employee Relations, and Total Compensation.

?  At least 10 years combined experience in human resources, business and/or consulting. Global human capital experience is highly preferred.

?  Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in measurement, data analysis and interpretation.

?  Experience working in a human resources or business function with a shared service delivery and strategic business partner model strongly preferred.

?  BA/BS degree in Human Resources, business or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

?  Strong history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility and partnering with business leaders and human capital peers.

?  Experience working in a matrix environment preferred.

?  Excellent consultative, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

?  Demonstrated project management skills.

?  Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or other sophisticated ERP system.
