Senior Human Resources Manager, Employee Relations Specialist

Responsibilities:
With the guidance of the Director of Employee Relations and Resources, the candidate will provide high-level issue resolution for complex employee issues by consulting and coordinating with Human Resources Managers and legal counsel. He/she will ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures and confirm compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. The candidate will conduct the research, investigate procedures and respond to internal employee complaints. He/she will conduct high-risk and complex investigations when necessary. The candidate will partner with Human Resources and Legal Resources to respond to complaints placed through government agencies EEOC/DFEH. He/she will provide guidance in the handling of complex performance counseling issues, as well as the resolution of employee issues and complaints as requested by Human Resources management. The candidate will provide expert consultative support to managers in the drafting of performance improvement documents, warning letters and termination documentation as requested by Human Resources management. He/she will provide termination meeting support as requested. He/she will prepare thorough and timely documentation on all investigations, counseling and issue resolution situations.
Requirements:
The candidate must have ten years of experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of five years of experience in Employee Relations, including direct experience responding to EEOC/DFEH complaints. Expert level knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations, Human Resource programs, policies and practices is required. The ability to work independently with minimal guidance and direction is a must. The ability to partner with business units, facilitate change, address problems in a caring yet assertive manner and reinforce corporate values is essential. The ability to enable two-way communications is a must. Problem resolution and decision making skills are required. The candidate must utilize sound judgment and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to negotiate and resolve complex matters, as well as put specific problems in context of the larger system, is required. Superior organizational, partnership, business judgment, decision making and time management skills are a must. The ability to influence and coach at all levels is essential. The ability to read, analyze and interpret written business and statistical data is required. Minimal travel is required for this position.
