JOB SUMMARY:
Provides leadership at the Roseau Manufacturing facilities to ensure regulatory compliance, a safe working environment, and to achieve desired health and safety goals. Directly supervises the Plant Nurse, Safety Engineer, and Health and Safety Technician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
2. Performs inspections, audits, and conducts post accident root cause analysis and drives corrective action.
3. Maintains employee EHS training and ensures proper maintenance of training records.
4. Promotes a positive EHS culture at all levels of the organization.
5. Provides leadership and technical expertise for EHS programs, EHS teams/committees, management and employees.
6. Implements best in class EHS programs and maximizes site performance.
7. Proactively drives continuous improvement in EHS programs, utilizing process improvement methodologies and practices.
8. Coordinates efforts with other EHS professionals to share best practices across Polaris locations.
9. Miscellaneous duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors Degree in engineering, safety management/engineering, or a related technical field.
2. Minimum of 5-7 years industrial experience in the safety field.
3. Outstanding leadership, influence, and communication skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement in a team environment.
5. Excellent organizational skills.
6. High integrity.
