Specializes in human resources at the professional level and carries out responsibilities in the areas of Compensation and Benefits ?V both theory and practice. Supports both Corporate and multiple field locations, including Canada. Works under minimal supervision on complex projects.

Benefits Basic Purpose: Plans, develops, and administers the company??s employee benefits programs including health and well ness, income protection, retirement and related programs. Makes plan design recommendations regarding program enhancement and controlling costs. Ensures compliance with federal and state legal and tax requirements and prepares and files required reports. Works under minimal supervision on complex projects.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plans, develops and administers the benefits program administration activities: Makes plan design recommendations regarding program enhancement and controlling costs based on trends and developments in the competitive market. Coordinates and administers group life, health, accident, disability and dental insurance programs, 401K plan and tuition reimbursement. Prepares distributes, and maintains benefits description booklets, annual statements, and certificates. Acts as liaison between company and insurance broker and plan administrators. Facilitate or coordinate on-going benefits training for employees. Remains current on all government regulations involving payroll and benefits, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and HIPAA. Compiles periodic and special reports on benefits matters for senior HR management. Employee point of contact.

 

 

Compensation Basic Purpose: Conducts complex analyses of jobs, hourly wages, salaries, and incentives in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the company??s pay practices. Makes recommendations regarding salary grades or market rates for specific jobs and assists in the development of incentive programs and the administration of merit programs. Reviews salary increases for compliance with company policy and budget. Participates in and/or conducts wage surveys.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Carries out broad analysis assignments involving the development, installation and administration of compensation: Studies and analyzes wage/salaried jobs and prepares standardized job descriptions. Evaluates job worth using standard job evaluation techniques; determines grades and pay ranges. Assists in the development of sales commission plans, incentive programs and the administration of merit-programs. Establishes computerized administration systems and databases to administer effectively these programs Maintains an on-going effort to ensure competitiveness, cost effectiveness and equity of pay programs. Conducts pay surveys and participates in such surveys conducted by third parties. Audits effectiveness of pay programs on a regular basis. Protects interest of employees in accordance with company??s policies and applicable pay laws and regulations. Remains current on all personnel policies, programs and practices and stays informed of new (and pending) laws and regulations.

 

Essential Education, Skills and Environment Education and Work Experience Bachelor??s degree preferred; may have some post-graduate education or training. Certification in benefits and compensation desirable. Typically has six to nine years of experience in HR and in benefits and compensation.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Excellent technical knowledge of benefits and compensations functional areas. Generalist background is a plus. Excellent knowledge of IRS and other governmental reporting requirements; excellent knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to benefits programs and labor and pay laws. Skilled in math application. Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of payroll systems.

Equipment and Applications HRIS and expertise in MS Office Suite preferred. Able to handle a high level of confidentiality regarding employee information

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment. Considerable levels of stress may occur. No special physical demands required. Some travel may be required.
