Sr Compensation Analyst

I. Job Summary: This position designs, develops and administers compensation
programs, policies and procedures.  This position also evaluates
market trends to assure the company compensation programs align
to the market.

 

II. Accountabilities:

1. Conducts job evaluation of new and revised positions,
utilizing the approved process and format.

2. Assists departments in writing job descriptions, assuring
the correct format and content quality.

3. Conducts and participates in salary surveys including position
matching/validations and analysis of results.

4. Consults on a variety of compensation related issues. Provides
reports, forecasts and various analyses.

5. Designs, develops and implements base pay and variable pay plans
which are aligned to the company's philosophy and strategies.

6. Completes annual review of market competitiveness and updates
compensation plans accordingly.

7. Develops communication pieces and conducts compensation training
and informational sessions. Makes presentations to management.

8. Participates in efforts to revise and streamline compensation-related
processes.

9. Compiles, analyzes and interprets data to ensure pay practices are
compliant.

 

III. Job Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field;
or equivalent training, education and/or experience.

5-8 years of experience in Compensation

 

IV. Competencies:

1. Current knowledge of evaluation systems,  variable pay programs,
quantitative analysis, pay structures pay rates, defining appropriate labor
markets, and selecting survey sources

2. Demonstrated ability to design and administer compensation programs
in a cost-effective manner including a general understanding of payroll
procedures and practices.

3. Computer literacy and knowledge of spreadsheet and database
software.

4. Ability to analyze data, prepare effective proposals and reports and
make recommendations.

5. Ability to negotiate to obtain desired results.

6. Communication and interpersonal skills to include effective oral
and written communication, presentation skills, and the ability to develop
and maintain positive working relationships.

7. Planning skills to include problem solving and project coordination.

8. Organization skills to include objective decision-making.

9. Customer service skills.
