Sr. HR Generalist (Employee Relations)

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for leading and managing various Employee Relations and Human Resources activities at the corporate headquarters. Serves as Employee Relations Specialist and HR Generalist to managers and employees by providing timely and quality human resources advice and support in the areas of employee relations, performance management, organization and employee development, policy development and interpretation, employee communications and HR Programs/ Projects.
Manages employee relations counseling, supervisor coaching, and employee development as appropriate. Fosters and maintains a positive and productive employee relations climate and culture. Meets with employees on HR issues as appropriate. Offers appropriate suggestions and informs HR management staff about grievances and employment situations, as appropriate. Advises employees on career choices and the development of their skills. Assists managers in identifying, implementing, and resolving employee relations issues. Work with managers and employees to bring about improved performance and/ or behavior. Counsels managers on employment laws and guidelines, and counsels employees concerning problems that affect work performance. Follows through with managers and employees to assure problem resolution and satisfactory performance. Recommends new approaches, HR policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of business unit. Assures compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, labor, pay, benefits and EEO laws. Assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Administers and manages corporate programs including immigration activities and relocation programs. Develops and implements employee events and programs. Conducts exit interview with departing employees and counsels departing employees regarding continuation of their company benefits. When appropriate, shares findings with HR management staff. Performs project related activities as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelors? degree required. Minimum of three to five years of generalist experience, with a concentration in employee relations. Demonstrated success in highly visible Human Resources function, involving employment, employee relations, performance management, and organization/employee development issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate ability to present information with varying degrees of difficulty, and to know how to adjust communication style depending upon circumstances and audience. Strong analytical skills, including ability to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Thorough knowledge of HR practices and principles, and all applicable federal and state employment, labor, pay, benefits laws and regulations. Good understanding of the HR trends and practices and ability to stay currents with new developments in the field. Strong customer service orientation and experience with maintaining confidentiality and exercising good judgment and discretion with a wide rage of human resources matters and information. Flexibility in a fast changing environment. Self-initiative with strong project management skills, effectively managing resources and workflow for multiple projects simultaneously. Comfort interacting with all levels within the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. JDE/Peoplesoft HRIS experience preferred. Ability to understand Company?s business strategy and objectives, general business principles, industry dynamics and market trends
