Staffing Services - Area Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Develop a marketing strategy, for established branches in assigned area, that will meet or exceed anticipated sales and profits objectives.  Identify opportunities to expand presence within area by establishing satellite locations with potential to become stand-alone-profit centers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial/Marketing:

? Develop an effective marketing strategy to achieve financial objectives for assigned area.  Collaborate with managers in assigned area to establish individual branch objectives.

? Provide marketing/sales direction to Branch Managers through target marketing and sales leadership.

? Analyze area financial reports to determine if the branch and area strategies are producing the desired results.  Take appropriate action to modify strategies and/or correct deficiencies so as to ensure branch and area goals are achieved.

? Analyze the potential for growth in assigned area.  Identify locations for establishing new branches and on-premise locations that will help further the financial goals of the area.  Monitor activities in existing branches to ensure they are following through on opportunities to increase their client base and/or increase revenue from existing accounts.

? Monitor the sales efforts throughout the area.  Periodically review sales goals and results with branch managers and sales staff.  Monitor results of steps taken to correct deficiencies.

Administrative:

?  Monitor branches to ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.  This includes such tasks as:

-  Completing new hire/status change notices

-  All hires made to criteria

-  Response to worker's comp/unemployment inquiries

-  Follow up on account receivables

-  Completion of financial reports as requested

?  Take appropriate steps to correct problems within limits of authority.

?  Keep abreast of changes in government rules and regulations which may affect operating procedures and strategy.

Supervisory:

? Hire and train branch managers as needed.  Promote from within or make external hires using appropriate Interim policies and guidelines.

? Insure that all branch managers and staff are fully trained in accordance with corporate development guidelines.

? Collaborate with branch managers to develop positive working environments for internal staff that encourage longevity and optimum productivity.

? Evaluate the overall effectiveness of area personnel.  Take appropriate actions to reorganize the workforce so as to improve branch and area performance.

?  Conduct performance counseling and evaluation as needed in accordance with company policy.

 

EDUCATION:

?  College degree or equivalent work experience with concentration in related subjects.

 

EXPERIENCE:

?  Six years experience with at least two years directly related experience in a management capacity.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

?  Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

? Able to analyze profit/loss statements and other related financial reports and use such data to make operational decisions.

? Can quickly adapt to internal/external changes affecting area of responsibility.

? Strong organizational and managerial skills.

? Able to maintain a schedule of frequent inter-state and intra-state travel.
