TRAINING MANAGER

The proposed merger with Golden West Financial Corporation (NYSE: GDW), parent of World Savings Bank, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2006, pending shareholder and regulatory approval. With this proposed merger, Wachovia would strengthen its position in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey and New York, and enter attractive metropolitan areas in five additional states: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Nevada. The combined company would serve banking customers through 3,400 offices in 21 states and Washington, D.C. In addition, Wachovia would gain mortgage lending operations under the World Savings Bank name in 39 states.

Requirements:

The HomEq HR Training Manager is responsible for managing the HomEq Training department upon closing of the sale of HomEq to Barclays. You will be accountable for the identification, development and delivery of learning solutions and learning strategy for HomEq, as well as manage, coach and lead a team of learning professionals. You will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs to drive business results and defining/implementing evaluation strategies that ensure learning solutions directly support business needs and drivers. You will also be responsible for new-hire training programs, skills development training, professional development and leadership training for HomEq. Other responsibilities include analysis of current learning/training practices for HomEq (correlation between training assessments, test scores, class design and job performance criteria) to continually improve training programs, tools and methodologies. You will work with Senior Leadership to determine short-term and long-term learning strategies for HomEq, as well as serve as a leader on the HomEq HR Leadership team for determining and executing HomEq?s Human Capital Strategy and consultation on HR issues and projects spanning HR functional areas.

Five plus years? experience in training/human resources is a must, preferably in the Mortgage Servicing or Financial Services industry. Three years? experience in a project management and relationship management role is required. You must have a proven track record of effectively managing people and working with adult learning theories and Information Mapping. Excellent problem-solving, consulting and verbal/written communication skills are also necessary. Some travel required. Bachelor?s degree in a related field is preferred.
