Trainer, Employee Skills Development
The Trainer will plan, organize, develop, direct, and facilitate a wide range of training activities. Work with subject matter experts in all departments (i.e.: Development, Support, Implementation, Consulting Services, Sales) to assess, develop, and deliver/facilitate training activities. Coordinate/leverage learning?s from other in-house developmental/training program(s). Troubleshoot and isolate performance gaps, select appropriate interventions and assess impact for continuous process improvement goals. Consult with management on program effectiveness. Track, trend, and report progress against departmental goals defined by management.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
New Hire Training Program delivery & facilitation: 25% Continuing Education Program delivery & facilitation: 15% Training program(s) curriculum development: 30% Administrative coordination & reporting (performance against goals): 5% Special Projects (training based): 10% Coordinate program agenda and dates: 5% Develop and document process improvement plans for participants in need of support: 5% Continuous self development of product knowledge: 5% Other duties as assigned
*Work with ESDD manager to enhance the scheduling, coordination, and delivery of the training curriculum. Utilize internal and external training resources to ensure a high level of satisfaction for the training delivered. Up to 25% travel required in first year, TBD in following year..
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated ability to design and develop technical training based curriculum. Technical knowledge of Windows, networks, or fundamental concepts of databases (preferably SQL) Consistently collaborate with all levels of the organization to ensure presentation materials are up-to-date at all times. Must be able to proficiently evaluate and make recommendations for curriculum enhancements and solutions. Must have the ability to describe technical concepts and present them to technical and non-technical persons in a clear, professional and concise manner in both oral and written forms. Ability to rapidly assimilate and adapt materials and training methodologies to a diverse learning audience using adult learning principles. Must be able to evaluate training outcomes through review of student performance and other analytical data. Ability to work in a positive team environment with peers, subject matter experts, clients and customers. Ability to complete ongoing root cause analyses supportive of participant?s level of knowledge; additionally demonstrating the ability to mentor trainees and/or current employees. Candidates must be self motivated, self directed individuals who work well under pressure, timelines, and are not adverse to travel. Detail oriented, professional demeanor, organizational and time management skills. Microsoft Office suite experience ? standard desktop products, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Minimum of 2 years experience in a teaching or training environment where excellent platform training skills are clearly demonstrated. Advanced computer skills, i.e., Access, SQL, Sybase, etc. Experience with web services, IE 6 configuration, XML, and .Net Experience in shell scripting, programming, or reading programmed code. Experience with business financial operations and/or accounting Experience in the business of law or exposure to other professional services firms Prior experience as a user of Thomson Elite software or other exposure to Thomson Elite software MSCE and/or MSCE DBA certification or other network administrator and/or database training.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent education and/or work experience.
