Training Manager
Are you an experienced training professional looking to leverage your strategic thinking and influencing abilities? Have you led a team of individuals in developing and delivering world-class training sessions? If so, consider taking on exciting new challenges with Circuit City as our Training Manager!
The Training Manager will support business unit Circuit City Direct. In this role, you will build and lead the overall Circuit City Direct strategy for training for all functional areas including product training, technical and systems training, sales skills, leadership, change management and team training. You will lead an internal team of instructional designers and trainers with dotted line responsibility for training teams in Canada, Philippines and India.
This role has four main areas of responsibility:
Development and leadership of Training strategy
You will create a strategy to meet the specific needs of the Direct business? diverse employee populations and leverage existing capability in Circuit City. You will also create new training capabilities to prepare the business for its aggressive growth plans and create a ?Brand? for CC Direct training so that each employee remembers the experience.
Business results
As the Training Manager, you will create an ROI plan and methodology for training, link training efforts to sales, and conduct in depth cost/benefit analysis on each training course currently delivered. You will also assess ?build vs. buy? for all training segments and leverage OEM resources to supplement current staff.
Training development and delivery
You will design and lead a team of trainers to develop and deliver world-class technical, behavioral and leadership trainings, and provide an in depth experience for new hires as well as continuous skill enhancement for current associates. You will use a variety of techniques including classroom training, online training, role playing, and small group study, while identifying and implementing a training system to track participation.
Partnering with business leaders and vendors
The Training Manager will also partner with business leaders within Direct to understand the unique needs of their organization and translate that into a training plan. Work collaboratively with CC Training and Customer experience team. Identify training vendors that can provide world-class products for us to enhance the associate skill base.
The ideal candidate must understand and embrace the unique challenges facing staff and management development in a growing multi-location retail setting. In addition to the above responsibilities, you will lead the design, development and implementation of operational/sales, soft skills and leadership training and ensure that training across all of the functional areas supports the business goals and objectives, both immediate and long term. You must also have the ability to work with corporate, division, field training teams and vendors to define and establish curriculum for CCD.
To be successful in this role, you must have 7-10 years of relevant work experience, including a previous senior-level role in training. Graduate degree in business or HR-related discipline highly preferred. You must also be proficient in MS Office and demonstrate additional strengths in the following areas:
? Ability to influence business leaders
? Instructional Design and Delivery experience
? e-Learning as well as adult learning techniques
? Ability to manage large scale change initiatives with little direction
