Collaborates with Operations leadership team to assess plant, department, and individual training needs and develop certification process. They will engage leadership team and employees in the development of training strategies, programs and materials to meet all plant performance goals. This position is accountable to ensure that employees have appropriate opportunities to acquire the skills, knowledge and ability to perform tasks to defined standards. They will direct implementation of training strategies to meet company-defined standards of training and job performance. The candidate models and supports company vision, values, and principles, and accomplishes goals through knowledge, understanding and communication of plant processes, company and divisional policies, and relevant procedures.
The ideal candidate will lead the development and execution of an employee skills development and certification process in order to enhance safety, quality, productivity and personnel development within each department. Key elements include training of new hires, re-certification of existing Team Members, transfer of technical skills from Maintenance to Production and planning for future skill requirements. They will coordinate the delivery of training by external and internal resources, e.g. Trade Schools, technical institutions, vendors, and internal trainers. Identifies resource needs and justifies these additional resources. They will also facilitate implementation of OSCI Performance Leadership initiatives i.e. Visual Factory Management, Cause Mapping, Performance Now, and utilization of Problem Solving Tools. They will lead the Leadership in Development process. Provides counsel to managers and subordinates regarding skill needs and development plans and assist with identification of Leadership Team needs. The candidate will deliver training and/or identifies external resources to meet the needs and supports the Leadership Team through assessment, coordination, delivery and evaluation of core employee development curriculum, provides one-on-one coaching as necessary. They will be responsible for assessment, acquisition, and/or design and development of effective training materials, in collaboration with internal and external subject matter experts, area leaders, and other stakeholders.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining plant training materials, resources and facilities to assure that materials are available and current, resources are utilized, and facilities meet training and gmp standards. They will be responsible for maintaining costs, records, and schedules for all training activities within the budgeted plan. Develops result measures for the Training and Certification Process to measure progress and improvement. Responsible for staying current on all applicable procedures, standards, customer requirements, scorecard and measures in order to ensure that any training is coordinated with all aspects of the glass manufacturing process and structure. Must also seek continuous improvement opportunities to ensure training skills, tools, and methods are most effective for achieving desired outcomes. The candidate will ensure that accurate training records and documentation are maintained within the department for each employee. They will provide training and assistance to customers and others to enhance customer awareness and understanding, and improve customer relations.
