ABAP Developer

BASIC FUNCTION The incumbent is responsible for ABAP development support for MeadWestvaco?s 4.6C SAP system.  Support includes the R3, APO and BW systems. Under the direction of the Manager, this position will analyze program requirements, conceptualize program structures and logic flow, interpret and validate program specifications supplied, in order to create effective and sustainable programs for interfaces, custom reports, forms and data extracts. The workload is a combination of break-fixes, enhancements to currently deployed SAP implementations and development to support new implementations.


Job Duties:
? Design, code, debug, test and support ABAP applications that are key components of MeadWestvaco?s ERP distributed and innovative enterprise applications.
? Ability to demonstrate expanded analytical and problem solving skills.
? Strong personal time management skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple task assignments across several projects.
? Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
? Interact with other technical teams such as the Technical Integration Group, Basis, Security and DBA's.
? Provide after hours development support within the Incident Management framework.
? Take responsibility for maintenance and further development of code developed by others.
? Interact with functional resources to negotiate requirements and dates.
? Participate in empowered, virtual teams.


Qualifications:
? B.S in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years of experience developing commercial software.
? Strong debugging and trouble shooting skills
? Ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts (customer issues, prototyping/architecture, implementation etc).
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Development experience with a highly customized SAP instance
? Requires strong ABAP/4 programming skills
