ACIO Enterprise Application Services

University Information Technology Services (UITS), a division of the President?s Office of the University of Massachusetts, is responsible for the provision and management of the University?s enterprise wide information technology assets and services.

 

UITS is currently seeking an Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for Enterprise Application Services to oversee its applications planning, deployment and operations management services.  UITS is responsible for providing shared services and support to UMass? system-wide administrative offices as well as several system-wide collaborative projects. UITS also provides select services to state and community colleges, libraries and several state agencies. The ACIO is an executive-level position and critical member of the senior management team responsible for providing strategic leadership in defining the University?s system-wide administrative applications direction and overseeing the management of the University?s investment in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) as well as other University centric enterprise applications and services.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelors Degree in a related software application, information technology discipline.  Masters degree is desirable; equivalent experience is acceptable. Qualified candidates will have over ten years of progressively responsible information technology experience including several management positions.  Candidates must have a depth of experience across the full applications management life cycle, operations and management experience and significant experience directly related to enterprise applications strategic and tactical planning and rollout.  This senior level management role will be directly responsible for the successful management of a large applications operations environment comprised of a full suite of Administrative ERP systems including Financials, Human Resources, Payroll and Student Administration application suites.  The candidate should possess significant experience with project management and leading multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups. Candidates should have demonstrated budget and planning experience for large scale projects. Solid interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively among a wide range of constituencies and organizational relationships with people of all levels of information technology expertise are paramount .

 

Preferred qualifications:  Advanced knowledge and experience with application life cycle strategic and tactical planning, deployment and operations management of large scale enterprise software applications, preferably ERP software applications experience.  This advanced knowledge and experience will ideally emanate from the candidates broad exposure and direct responsibility across a multitude of Information Technology disciplines including applications management and development, technology and infrastructure and customer account management.  In addition the candidate will ideally possess strong familiarity with key administrative business processes as it relates to successful application management.  While the University has exclusively deployed Peoplesoft (Oracle), ERP experience with other ERP application sets is considered relevant for this position. Experience in a University, Higher Education Information Technology setting is preferred.
