AIX Administration

AIX Administration Description: We are looking for a mid to senior level AIX Systems Administrator for an immediate contract-to-hire position in North Austin area.

Job Responsibilities:

? Providing support for incident/problem management, system outages, change activities, block points, and hardware / software failures diagnosis

? Performing local and remote software installations, as well as driver and firmware upgrades

? Managing documentation, configurations, and the integration of new
systems/peripherals

? Monitoring system performance to ensure service availability and performance
Designing and implementing system enhancements

? Assisting with the development of utility programs and procedures

? Providing on-call support

? Compliance with all company security policies and procedures






Requirements:

? Experience with IBM AIX5.x Operating System and IBM series hardware P 570 /595

? Knowledge of Administration of P-series hardware through HMC.

? Knowledge of partitioning P-Series servers and performing LPAR configuration

? Knowledge of configuring SAN devices on AIX

? Working knowledge of RedHat Enterprise

? Working knowledge of Linux Kickstart and Building Linux Servers

? Working knowledge of NFS, DNS

? Shell script writing & debugging

? Basic Oracle Database and configuration knowledge

? Knowledge of System Performance & Monitoring concepts

? Identifying opportunities to increase operational efficiency and acting on those opportunities and overall system availability.

Nice to have (but NOT required):

Certification in AIX P-Series
