Position Title:  AIX Systems Administrator

 

Job Description:

 

Skills required: Installation, maintenance, and configuration of AIX v5 systems Experience supporting both medium (p550/570) and large (p595) pSeries systems AIX HACMP hands-on exposure and experience (more than one year) required pSeries LPAR definition hands-on exposure and experience (more than one year) required Experience in AIX v5 network configuration and maintenance methods (including NIM) required Experience in installation, management, support of a large EMC-based SAN environment required Exposure to and working experience with EMC tools SRDF and TimeFinder in an AIX/EMC Symmetrix environment required

 

Other preferred qualifications: AIX v5 performance and tuning exposure and experience preferred Experience with pSeries and AIX in a SAN environment strongly preferred Experience supporting an IBM - SAP installation and infrastructure a strong plus Experience with Veritas NetBackup and ADIC tape libraries strongly preferred Experience with BMC/Patrol a plus Experience working in a validated environment (the system is a SAP implementation that is validated as per Good Manufacturing Practices) a strong plus

 

Installation and system administration responsibilities will include (but are not limited) to:

 Hardware and OS installation and verification activities involving AIX on IBM pSeries servers Software installation and verification activities associated with Veritas Netbackup (server and client), Macro4 UNIQ, BMC/Patrol and other program products Support activities associated with business critical, 24x7 support of an SAP-based system running within an HACMP AIX environment UNIX (AIX) account administration Documentation in the area of installation, support and testing activities
