ASP.NET Developer

This developer position works together with three core team structures to accomplish strategic goals for the department: (1) .Net Team and (2) Department Team (3) Project Team.  As an asset to the UI team, the developer will be able to contribute to brainstorming sessions, code reviews, participate in team meetings, as well as use their past technical experiences to enhance current web designs and any future efforts.  The Department Team, which has allocated resources from each Tier Team (UI, Middle Tier, Back-end), performs maintenance tasks as well as designs, develops, implements new applications.  With the project team, opportunities to contribute to both short term and long term projects are considerable at Litton.  We currently have 3 major ongoing .Net projects.  Upon their completion, there are several other projects slated to begin.  The major focus is retiring legacy systems and moving toward a scalable all .Net environments for our core applications. We anticipate this exciting transition to last for the next few years.

 

In addition to development contributions, the ASP.Net UI Developer has the opportunity to significantly impact efforts to create policy, procedures, and the development environment for .Net.  For example, automation of releases, code reviews, peer mentoring, Visual Source Safe Administration, establishment of coding standards and procedures.

 

Soft Skills:

 Able to work independently and with team members (brainstorming, team building activities, helping others to resolve issues, etc.).Because team members interact with customer groups as well as with several other teams, clear communication is key.  The candidate must be able to articulate thoughts clearly in email and verbally. Ability to communicate with several audiences is key -using clear/user-friendly terminology (i.e. email, phone, meetings). Encourages inter department communications.Ability to learn and adhere to department standards for design, development and quality control.Ability to recognize the need for improvement in existing processes/applications, present solutions, and implementation plan to team with oversight of supervisor.Leadership skills are a big plus

 

Technical Skills:

 >2 years overall web development experience utilizing the following technologies:

 

ASPFull life cycle developmentASP.netCSSHTML

 IIS

 >3 years ASP.Net experience using VB.Net or C#

 Visual Source Safe (min of 2 years of experience in full life cycle using VSS and experience as Admin in VSS is a big plus)
