Access Developer

Apex Systems, Inc. ( ) currently has an opening for a MS Access Developer In Columbia, MD.  The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

 

A large national client in Columbia, MD is seeking an Mid Level Access Developer with full life cycle / client facing experience to serve as the "go-to" MS Access resource on site. The candidate must be a team player and would utilize Visual Basic to support current business needs as well as create prototypes for future business needs.

The day-to-day duties will entail management of Access databases along with enhancements, new implementation, and overall Access development. In addition to meeting with users, identifying requirements, and going through the full life cycle for database development(requirements, designing, testing, implementing), the candidate will also be the key resource for non-technical employees to assist with Access questions and with more in depth development within the database (mentor less experienced staff).

The candidate's experience should go well beyond the "creating queries" and "simple GUI" aspect of Access. Instead, much of the experience should lie with developing user interfaces, usability concepts, fuctions, record sets, and other in depth back-end areas of Access.

A 4 year degree, preferably in a technical field would be a key element. A background check will be required prior to being allowed on site.
